Community-based sessions for sensory integration and the SOS program

Applying acquired sensory skills in natural settings such as parks, shops, restaurants and public places, helping the child cope with sounds, lighting, textures, movement and other stimuli.

In the feeding program, community sessions may include visiting places that serve food or going shopping to choose, explore and gradually interact with foods, in line with the child’s abilities and therapy needs.

Goal of community sessions

Helping the child regulate sensory responses in different environments, accept new sensory and food experiences, and generalise acquired skills outside the center.
